Just to let you know about our next meeting on Wednesday 27th March. The theme of our meeting is a ‘Chocolate Extravaganza.’ We are also inviting you to bring a friend to the meeting. We are always looking for new ladies to join us. We are looking forward to a fun evening as there will be lots of chocolate treats to try out!
Even though the Government has agreed from September to provide sanitary protection to schools – our plan is to carry on collecting until advised otherwise and support the Red Box project.
We are looking into setting up our texting service to remind you of events coming up. We hope to start this soon.
Please put May 11th in your diary as we are holding our Social Sewing Event at Hartley Wintney WI Hut. We will be making washable sanitary towels to send to the poorest of new mums after childbirth in India. Hygiene and perineal infections are high following birth so providing something clear and washable to wear will help protect the stitches and hopefully lessen the risk of infections. If you cannot make the day, please feel free to donate packs of new knickers which will be sent as a pack to India. My niece Kate will take these packs back to India with her when she visits the UK in June. Please see poster for further details.
