Well ladies can you believe it we are already half way through the 2016-17 programme? What a lovely way to end the year with our last members’ evening of 2016 by making originally designed Christmas baubles to take home and hang with pride on the Christmas tree. There was certainly a buzz of Christmas in the room with fairy lights, Christmas tree and music, refreshments including mince pies, ladies wearing a wonderful array of Christmas jumpers or sparkly tops and plenty of chatting and laughter.
Thank you to everyone for the Christmas gifts that you so generously wrapped and brought along on the evening for the Well Being Centre lucky dip, which demonstrated yet again how we as WI ladies think of others in our community, as well as supporting our usual in-house charities, the Foodbank and the women’s refuge.
Now the next time we all get together will be in January 2017 when Dr Chris Steer will be coming along to talk about 3D printing. This is certainly a topic of the moment and, along with catching up with each other’s news, it should be a lovely start to the second half of our programme.
I really do feel very privileged to be your President and would like to say thank you to the committee who are very supportive and work hard behind the scenes. A big thank you to you, the members, as well because it is by all of us pulling together that makes our WI go from strength to strength.
So, ladies until we get together again I wish you all a wonderful Christmas break. Look after yourselves, have fun and try, if possible, to find some me time when you can just chill out and catch your breath.
Lots of good wishes from
Claire, President
