Happy Easter…..from Hampshire

Hello Everyone

It is lovely to hear how creative and busy lots of WIs are and a big shout out to WIs who have been helping good causes.

Netley Abbey WI was mentioned on Radio Solent this morning for completing  200 + scrubs bags for NHS staff and I understand they are now working on headbands.

If you have a contact who is liaising with your local hospital or healthcare establishment and has requested specific items, please do make these if you can and/or organise other WI members to help.

Annual Accounts & AGM

The Charity Commission is aiming to be as flexible and pragmatic as possible to help charities during this period.

We will be continue to review the latest information on the charity commission website and keep you informed.

WI LIFE

Very sadly but equally understandably, the Kent Association for the Blind, who produce and send out the audio version of WI Life,  has had to temporarily close its office due to Covid-19 and unsurprisingly they are unable to replicate studio/CD production facilities in a homeworking set up.

This means that some of our most vulnerable members will not have the comfort of their audio version of WI Life during what must be particularly disturbing times for them.

Please relay this to any members you know who receive the CD, perhaps someone in your WI could phone and read it through to them?

Resources

Many of you are using TEAMS, Zoom, Skye and Facetime to keep in touch and have even held meetings this way, which is just brilliant.

In case you have not already seen, there have been lots of ideas and resources on our website www.hampshirewi.org.uk , the HampshireWI Facebook page and on My WI over the last few weeks.

MYWI shows how to host virtual meetings and arranging online sub-groups, as well as resources about looking after your mental health during this time of isolation, FAQs about the impact of Covid-19 on WI meetings and events, and a wide range of exciting craft, cookery and sports activities to keep members busy during isolation.

–          How to host a virtual meeting

–          Take your sub group online

–          How to look after your mental health during Covid-19

–          FAQs about Covid-19

–          Craft projects using your ‘craft stash’

–          Store cupboard recipes

Please remember those members who are not online and unable to participate, it might be nice to keep in touch by phone especially at Easter time.

Have a lovely Easter, if you have a garden – enjoy the sunshine while it is here!

xx
