Presidents Post – September 2021

The WI-Flyers WI meet on the 4th Wednesday in the month. We have met throughout lockdown on Zoom and have had our first Face to Face Meetings. If you are interested in joining us please email:

Since my last post the WI-Flyers have had the opportunity to meet up three times outdoors.  I am sure like me you enjoyed our August meeting at Reg’s Garden at the end of Farnborough Street, and a very interesting walk and talk with Mike Gotting on the work done by the Farnborough Street Residents Association.
Emma had a lovely sunny Sunday for her walk around Rotherwick, and Martine kindly organised a trip to the Wisley Flower show, sadly she couldn’t attend, next time Mart.

As well as planning for our WI, Rachel and I are also planning events for Hampshire Federation. We will both be attending WI day at WI House, Eastleigh, SO50 9XB, to celebrate the WI’s Birthday on Thursday 16th September.
This is a two-day event, (15th & 16th), celebrating everything that WI members achieved during lockdown. Come along for tea and cake, take the opportunity to visit your headquarters, which is very easy to get to, as we are just opposite Eastleigh railway station.

Another date for your Diary, especially for those that missed him at our meeting is David Chapman on the 3rd February at 7.30pm via Zoom. David will be giving the same talk he gave us, on how to improve your photography. It will be a Federation event and the link will be sent on a future Presidents Post.
