Social Sewing Day

Last Saturday we had our Social Sewing Day when we made reusable sanitary towels for the new Mums in India. 20 ladies (including 2 from Wales) joined us in Hartley Wintney’s WI hut where we cut, sewed, ironed, ate and drank (coffee and cakes) for 4 hours.

There were 7 Hart WI’s represented with knicker donations from other WI’s. We had a very productive morning making over 40 towels (with more to come) and well over 50 bags. We have had over 120 pairs of knickers donated (thank you if you were one of those who donated) and even had a donation of knickers from Sainsburys! 

Thank you to everyone who donated items and or time I know Kate (in India) is overwhelmed by the support for this project. Watch the Hampshire and National Magazines to see if we make an appearance……
